Immokalee is a census-designated place (CDP) in Collier County, Florida, United States. The population was 19,763 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Naples–Marco Island Metropolitan Statistical Area. Originally the region was occupied by the Calusa Indians and Centuries later occupied by the Seminoles. Initially the settlement was known as Gopher Ridge by the Seminole and Miccosukee Indians. The etymology of the name Immokalee appears to mean either "My Home" or "His Home".
